Description: Chopped worm fished correctly on canal can be deadly. The best method to fish chopped worm effectively on the canal is the long pole with a pole pot, which is a small pot attached to the tip of the pole and allows you to cup in the bait very accurately First choose nice fat lobworms and redworms rinse off the mud from them using the landing net. then put 10-20 worms in the pole pot and using a scissors chop the worms in the pole pot in to small pieces. I always like to add in a couple of grains of sweetcorn and a couple of casters to keep any bigger fish interested. The Ship the pole out to the desired distance to tip in the contents of the pole cup. This will created a lovely oily cloud with small pieces of worms floating down through them. I would normally rest this swim for a little while before fishing. Then tip in a another pot in 30 min and fish it. I would use casters on the hook or a small piece of worm fished just off the bottom. Perch tench bream and eels love chopped worm.
