Description: Float fishing in rivers is an exciting way to fish. The best type of float to use is the stick float in medium to fast flowing rivers. This type of float it attached to the mainline using two small rubber/ silicon bands. The reason for this in river fishing is basically control and sensitivity. The float can be 'held' back against the flow and eased through the swim slowly. This would cause a bottom connected only float/waggler to sink under the water and make bites very hard to detect. Your range is limited with the stick float to about 3 rod lengths. Anything more than this a heavy waggler should be used.
