Float Fishing Rods normally range from 3-4.2mt (11-14ft). Although there are are some specialist exceptions.

As a general rule of thumb the further out you want to fish the longer your rod should be.

A 3.5 mt float fishing road is good for short range fishing such as canals and margins. With 2-3 bb waggler floats.

3.6- 3.9 mt fishing rods are good for long to medium range waggler fishing.

Long rods 4.2mt 14ft+ are useful for fishing stick floats on rivers as it allows you to control the float easily with its extra length you can keep the float on track even during windy conditions.

Prebait.com Tip: To stop to joints of your rod sticking rub some wax from a candle or a little graphite from a pencil to the male sections. If your fishing rod or pole joints so get stuck dont pull them apart yourself get some help from another angler. A strong steady pull should have it free easily enough. Sometime tapping the offending joint with your knuckles while pulling helps. It is important to select the correct action for a float fishing rod. Rods range from through action to tip action. It is critical to select the correct type of action for your type of fishing. A through action rod has a hollow tip and the bend decreases from the tip to butt
