No secret at all. An excellent all round groundbait is this one;;;ikg sensas bream 3000 250g of sausage rusk 250g of crushed trout/halibut pellet 250g of crushed hemp 250g of sensa X21. The secret is in the mixing. USE AS LITTLE WATER AS POSSIBLE. I always mix my groundbaits with a mixture of oil from cans of tuna [i have a tub in the freezer and everyone in the house knows to keep the drained oil] add to this a teaspoon of Thai fish sauce [from any supermarket ] and Green lipped mussel oil [from your tackle dealer] I also have a mix in my freezer that consists of liquidised sweetcorn[must be strained to get rid of the skins] mixed with Brasem groundbait additive[smells fantastic] I know that this sounds like a lot of messing about but this can all be made in advance and frozen. I make the dry groundbait in bulk and store it in an air tight tub. With a little practice this can be mixed to break up quickly or stiff enough to ball 50 yards .

Bread Should Always Be The Main Source Of Your Ground Bait.mixing Loads Of Ingredients Not Natural And Can Work Against You.if You Not Catching Were Is Your Plan B.??how Do You Know Whats Working And Whats Not.????bread Worm Sweetcorn Mixed You Cant Go Wrong And Its Cheap.loose Feed With Maggots Or Casters.no Joy Have Second Mix With Some Hemp.still No Joy Forget It Cause It Not Gonna Happen No Matter What You Throw In.all Them Bags Of Mix Are To Catch You Not The Fish Keep It Simple The Fish In Heavely Fished Waters Stay Well Clear Of Them.

great answer.
Keep it simple and only switch if its not working.
Liquidised bread is hard to beat for everything.

whats getting results for me at the min it a bag of black VDE roach and 2 pints of brown crumb with a pint of cooked help and a can of sweetcorn. If I have fresh casters I'll also addt them.. not a lot of water and away you go..

Just one tip. check that your casters are sinking before you use them. I used some older ones last week and the fish all started jumping as the casters were floating. Same goes for hemp. If it dries out it will float and defeat the purpose of trying to get them to your hook bait

Can someone tell me how to prepare sweetcorn

Sweetcorn doesnt need to be prepared, just use it straight from the can, adding the brine to the groundbait or not is just personal preference. I try not to add it due to preservatives. Cheap tesco sweetcorns just as good as green giant. You can also try frozen sweetcorns, they good too.

There is a very potent sweetcorn used in Hungary to catch carp its called "erjesztett kukorica" which means you leave the sweetcorn to "rot" to some degree(not really rot, but let it get some smell) and away you go-on some venues when all else fails that can bring unexpected catch.

Isn't there a way to prepare it so it can be added to groundbait as a fine particle

You could try to dry the corn out but you'll need fresh cob for that, canned or frozen wont do it. If you leave a couple of cobs(I am not sure if thats the correct name) in a warm dry place for days, they will dry out. Then you have to take the corn off the shaft which is relatively easy since its dried out. Then you have to grind the dry corn down to fine particles and you can add it to the groundbait.

If you ask me its a time consuming and tedious task and its simply not worth the effort as most groundbait alredy contains many different particles things like hempseed.

In my opinion,Sensas groundbaits are the best on the groundbaits market, and they bring proper results,no matter the water u're using these mixes. The Lake Black 3000 variety is pure and simple the best groundbait for lakes or slow moving waters along with Gros-Gardons,Silverfish or Roach.Apart of these grounbaits that i mentioned above,my favourite are Sensas Fine Mouture(winter/spring mix for canals)Sensas 3000 Roach Noire and Sensas Grilled/Grounded Hemp.Along with groundbaits Sensas binders/leams are top quality such damp leam(Terre de Somme) or river binder(Terre de Rivierre).

note. floating casters are at end of transformation and of a dark colour, note that early staged casters bring way more success

note. that in some hard fish carp fisherys the fish find that fresh sweetcorn means trouble!!! so become aware that hoovering sweetcorn past its best is safe!!!

I agree there i use the sensas lake black 3000 for most of my fishing, it is a good fish attractor and i think sensas lake black 3000 is one of the most popular 1kg groundbaits of the sensas brand in ireland i am lead to believe that it sells very well in fishing tackle shops across the country.

Love the sensas range of groundbaits especially explosive feeder and 3000 silverfish. I tried a MVDE bream with some of the MDVE vanilla addititive today and it really done the trick I got 7 dace 1 perch 1 brown trout and 2 hybrids, in just over 3 hours. That's not a bad day for me on the barrow

The best value for money sweet corn is aldi, 6 for a tray of twelve cans and its really good on the hook, on another note, many years ago we used dried ground up pigeon crap in our mixes, this fizzes like mad in the water and the tiny bits of dried corn sparkle in the water, match anglers on the continent still use it a lot, so if you know any pigeon owners, ask them to keep the sweepings from the loft floor,
