| This is the largest lake on the Shannon, covering some 29,000 acres and is a good mixed fishery for Salmon, Pike, Coarse fish and Trout. It is a must for the big hunter. The access is good to this lake, with some of them being at Portumna, Terryglass and Kilgarvan. At Rossmore jetty you can fish for rudd and bream from the rocky margin. Scarriff river flows through lough Ree, up water from Scarriff has the better swims which holds bream, perch, rudd and pike near the yields in the winter. |
