The bloodworm and joker are match fishings most controversial baits. It has been banned from many venues as the fish go crazy for this bait and wont touch anything else. The bloodworm lives in still stagnant water often lightly polluted by farm run off.
Jokers normally live in flowing water lightly polluted with sewage.
Prebait Tip: So be extra careful with hygiene when collecting bloodworm and jokers and don't touch you face or mouth with your hands user rubber gloves and clean all equipment well when you get home.
Both are like segmented worms but they are not worm rather the larvae of a small two winged fly. Bloodw0orms are sluggish and slightly larger than lively joker. which make them ideal to complement each other, bloodworm on the hook and joker fed over the top. This will hold the fish as they try to compete for the darting jokers.
Hooking bloodworm gently in the head segment and fish them and inch off the bottom so that their tails almost reach the bottom.Jokers can be used in the winter as they are much more active bait.
